I recently started to think about having a second child and spoke with my husband about it. He agreed because Dilia Maria is now 18 months old and we are not getting any younger either. So I schedule an appoint to have the Mirena IUD placed the January after Dilia was born removed. I must say that my experience with Mirena overall has been excellent. I did a lot of research on Mirena before I choose it for me. My period was a little crazy in the beginning for about first 3 to 4 months and then my period disappeared completely. I was a little worried until my doctor told me that it was normal. So, I have been period free for over a year and now, I should be getting it soon again. I hopeful am able to get pregnant again. Lets see...

I had it too, but the effects of mine were just the opposite! ugh, lengthy and lingering period. But most people I know had the same experience you did. BTW - I yanked mine out myself! :)
